An FA Cup Third Round prediction competition

There are 25 FA Cup Third Round ties this weekend involving Football League clubs playing against teams from a different division.

But where will the upsets be found?

There are no prizes, it’s just for fun, but have a look at the fixtures listed below and pick FIVE teams from those in bold who you think may spring a surprise.

There are different numbers of points awarded for how difficult each club’s tie is, ranging from the most difficult (Peterborough away at Fulham, Charlton away at Tottenham and Notts County away at Sunderland – 16 points up for grabs) to the easiest (Torquay United at home to Carlisle United – 2 points available).

Points will be halved in the case of draws.

This points system has been devised based on the division a club is in, the division their opponents are in and whether the tie is home or away.

The winner is the person with the biggest number of points for correct predictions.

The Seventy Two

The Seventy Two published an outstanding series of articles about the Football League between 2010-12 and was the brainchild of Leicester City fan, David Bevan. As well as collaborating with The Two Unfortunates on the Football League Blog Network and a mammoth 2011-12 season preview, the site featured a host of leading bloggers and David was rewarded with a nomination in the 2011 Football Supporters’ Federation awards. Latterly, he was joined as co-editor by Joe Harrison and TTU is happy to present this archive of the site’s output.

    Shame you didn’t hold off until this weekend and the ‘sewer rat’ comments. Surely the binoculars to the official would have been December though the water bottle was pretty good as well. Hopefully it will be very calm now to the end of the season. Pretty chuffed to get four right here!!
