As if we couldn’t get excited about a new season in the Football League, the Beeb have dutifully reminded us what’s at stake by way of a new trailer, which is currently being aired across its channels. Having already announced their planned coverage, which is (in fairness) an improvement on ITV’s blink-and-you-miss-it The Championship, the Beeb seem to have engaged in a battle to win football fans’ affection by selling the League(s) as an endearing sideshow, complete with a set of cuddly comedy characters and, what’s more, through assigning perennial backroom boy Manish Bhasin as its frontman. There is just one question we need to ask: who’s your second team going to be?
