McGoldrick certainly caught the eye in Southampton’s desperate season with some lithe displays in the fabled hole between defence and midfield – you know, the one where you don’t have to do any tracking back. The rumoured fee of a million is probably the going rate although the player’s similarity in style to the promising Lewis McGugan [3] may give Billy Davies some selection worries.
