TTU Awards 2010/2011: Best Kit
Picking a favourite football kit is an endeavour not too far removed from naming one’s favourite dictator — an aberration here, a crime against humanity there. Our motley band have stepped forth in an attempt to split the Pol Pots from the VI Lenins in this year’s bunch.
As with most votes there has been no clear winner so the arbiter has been the author of the article. Hence QPR’s audacious green and white hooped away kit takes the spoils. Cynics may suggest that this is nothing new, merely a copy of years of Celtic colours but aesthetes must surely have fallen for the sea green hue and the witty play on their home strip. Besides, it seems to perfectly capture the tone of the new ‘fab and loathsome’ (TM D. Baker) regime at Loftus Road.
There were honourable calls for the tradition of Bradford City’s delicious gold and burgundy stripes, for the lurid yellow of Torquay United and Norwich City and the frankly awful (to this observer) Swansea City home shirt — one hopes the latter was merely a tokenistic nod to the luck it brought.
Last year’s winner: West Bromwich Albion (home)

June 16, 2011That thing? Really? With its big red lotto shoulder squares… its too high sponsor and 'that' QPR crest? Gentlemen I dispair at your sartorial selection

June 17, 2011Don't blame me! I voted for the one awarded `Worst Kit'. And I rather liked the Swansea home shirt as well.

Football Manager 2012

June 18, 2011Just to add that I think this kit is shocking as well and the shade of green is, well, terrible. I have no copies of Football Manager 2012 to sell though.

June 19, 2011As the third Unfortunate to admit that I don't like the QPR kit either, I'm beginning to wonder how it won the award! That shade of green was last seen in a ghastly Chelsea “jade” away kit used in the late Eighties.
