Much ink has already been spilt since ‘that goal’, so rather than offer some pulp analysis, I thought it would be more apt to ask others what they think by way of a poll. Other than acknowledging Bristol City’s relegation to the league’s list of cheating scamps (previous population: Reading), I have just one thing to add: didn’t someone suffer a similar fate to Freddie Sears at the Dell in the 90s?

August 17, 2009I've got mixed feelings. On the one hand, I'd be furious if it happened to us and think Bristol City should have let Palace tap in unchallenged to make up for it. On the other, it's problematic to label City's players as “cheats” given that the mistake was all the officials' fault, plus I was delighted to see Warnock blow his top.

August 17, 2009I guess that what I was getting at is that City are the equivalent of the man who doesn't speak up when a restaurant botches up a bill and doesn't charge him for the drinks. Apparently, Gary Johnson thought that the goal was disallowed because of a push, so kept quiet…
Gary Johnson is a wee fibber.

August 18, 2009I was in the ground for the Stuart Attwell match – had no idea what was going on. Most of the talk about what should have happened comes from people who were nowhere near that ground that day.
