Just another afternoon across the Football League

Given the Premier League’s machinations over the past week or two, some supporters of Football League clubs must have felt like mentally barricading themselves in as the Championship, League One and League Two prepare for several dramatic and seemingly inevitable changes in the landscape.

Time to return to grounds up and down the country and remember why we still love our clubs – and, for some of us, why they can be so utterly frustrating.

Thanks to everyone who sent these images in – apologies for mangling them somewhat but I’m hoping it will ensure I avoid a winding-up order from the Football League.

There is something interesting about all of them. I particularly like the way you can’t pick out the individual names on Millwall’s teamsheet, the fancy car park fonts at Ipswich, the behind-the-scenes look at Peterborough, the fact we had contributions from fans of two different clubs sat about 50 yards from each other at Bournemouth, the bloke deep in thought at Exeter, a lovely sprinkler effect at Hillsborough, the bleakness of Brisbane Road and the sharp contrast between the referee in black and the white Northampton away shirts at Bradford.

The Seventy Two
The Seventy Two published an outstanding series of articles about the Football League between 2010-12 and was the brainchild of Leicester City fan, David Bevan. As well as collaborating with The Two Unfortunates on the Football League Blog Network and a mammoth 2011-12 season preview, the site featured a host of leading bloggers and David was rewarded with a nomination in the 2011 Football Supporters’ Federation awards. Latterly, he was joined as co-editor by Joe Harrison and TTU is happy to present this archive of the site’s output.

Great images, and I love the effect used on them. How exactly did you “mangle” them?

Haha well it’s just a basic Photoshop effect but wasn’t sure whether people preferred the original image they took. I agree it looks good though.
