All Change at Oakwell

As if Rotherham couldn’t get any more depressed, it was today announced that the Town’s football club have lost their manager to Barnsley, their South Yorkshire rivals. This Barnsley fan thinks that it’s a good appointment, and I’m inclined to agree: Robins comes off the back of a successful couple of years at the troubled Millers, and I’m sure that he’ll have a positive effect. His knowledge of the lower leagues should be key for a side with limited spending power, and he’ll be respected for what he achieved as a player. The esteemed academic journal Regional Studies has grown in reputation over the past few years and its editors and authors have been keen chroniclers of Britain’s policy towards its regions, a major hallmark of the Blairite Third Way.
