TTU Awards 2009/2010: Best Away Trip

As my fellow blogger Scarf has said, Peterborough United constitutes the best away trip in the league by default for the simple reason that it’s the only one with a terrace. My own feelings are confused on this matter as one of my two sorties to London Road this season involved my chosen ones throwing away a two goal lead and tumbling to an ignominious reverse. Standing doesn’t suit us all: the away end at Posh features many a fidgety kid attempting to stand on tiptoe and many an OAP clutching their lower back with discomfort, but it’s nonetheless a proper football experience and one that the denizens of the Championship will miss. A subsequent expedition as a neutral unveiled a more than decent Thai place for lunchand the cathedral is a very fine one indeed.

Honourable mentions to Cardiff City, a vibrant day out spoilt only by the positioning of the away fans in a corner (against the spirit of the sport), Bristol City (a can of Natch cider in The Robins is an experience not to be missed) and Plymouth (even if you happen to witness one of the worst displays in 30 years).
