What I want from my football club - Part 5: Play-off hopefuls

The Seventy Two has canvassed the opinion of several Football League writers from a variety of different clubs to ask one simple question: what do you want from your football club? Given around 300 words to play with, there were numerous responses so we will be looking at a cross-section every day this week, continuing with the thoughts of supporters of four clubs who will end the 2011/12 season with the play-offs in mind - West Ham United, Huddersfield Town, Cardiff City and Gillingham. Boleyn brief: Never mind the bollocks, here’s West Ham United

With the Championship promotion race heating up as we enter the final five games of the season, West Ham fan Stuart Fuller reflects on his side’s comprehensive victory at Oakwell. Oh, Sam Allardyce. You should really sometimes just stop talking and concentrate on getting West Ham back to the land of milk and honey. Stuart Fuller is our man at Upton Park. Two weeks ago I said “Keep calm and carry on” after the last minute defeat to Cardiff City. And sure enough, two good wins on the road, with five scored and none conceded, brought the confidence flowing back…

Lower leagues across the globe #8: Sweden

Despite an alpine outlook, football remains the most popular sport in Sweden. Most of the focus is on the Allsvenskan, the top flight which runs from Spring until late Autumn, with the winter months being dominated by coverage of the English Premier League. Stuart Fuller tells us all about life in the Swedish lower leagues. The Swedish football calendar can often lead to confusion as the Allsvenskan champions have to wait seven months to start their European campaigns, by which stage most of their decent players will have moved on into the bigger European leagues. This is demonstrated by the…
