Possibly the closest category to call, this split our voters - divided by micro and macro concerns. At the latter level, the usual suspects are there: the primary interviewee on Lord Sugar Tackles Football, some oval ball proponents from the South Manchester borders and all those associated with the downfall of a Green Army from Devonshire.
Two newcomers will be greeted with less than open arms - Crawley Town’s seeming intention to buy their way out of the lower leagues (Charlie Lee, Chris Whelpdale and Wes Thomas have already signed for perhaps the shadiest gaffer in football) and those classy publishers from the Boleyn Ground attract stick for their shameless disregard for how their half-baked Olympic stadium move will affect a team only one division below them now; albeit a club separated from them by a chasm in terms of revenue and support base, Leyton Orient.
But we admit to being mildly obsessed with a certain North Buckinghamshire crew on this website and although this doubles up as a Lifetime Achievement award, it’s well earned.
